Chang, President, Tipping Point Partners, LLC, a media and entertainment advisory firm that helps creative managers and entrepreneurs make bet-the-company decisions on issues such as starting-up, financing, and buy-vs-sell decisions, particularly for companies where technology and the Internet play a significant role in determining success or failure. Art hw firm, with the largest and the only international entertainment law practice in the U.S. Art joined Gas over 20 years of experience in start-up company settings, including a Chinese-language e-commerce company; an international television distribution business; and a $2.3 billion public real estate development. Prior to Tipping Point Partners, Art was Chief Operating Officer of GT Advisory Co., LLC, where he formed and managed software and services businesses that leveraged the law firm's capabilities. GT Advisory is a subsidiary of Greenberg Traurig, the fourth largest U.S. laT Advisory from the New York City Investment Fund, a $100 million venture capital fund organized by Henry Kravis and Jerry Speyer, where he provided advice on investments in distributed computing, enterprise software, and digital media. Prior to that, Art was an investment banker with experience on over $1 billion of diverse private equity and M&A transactions in power generation, real estate, equipment lease finance, biotech and technology. In 1997, Art co-founded Venture Downtown, the annual venture capital conference in New York City. Art began his career in architecture and real estate development, where he worked on over 50 residential, commercial and public projects totaling over $350 million in construction, including a $100 million project for I.M. Pei. Art volunteers on the Board of the Brooklyn Public Library Foundation, the supporting organization for the fourth largest public library system in the U.S. and on Yale's Alumni Schools Committee, where he interviews undergraduate applicants to Yale University. Art received his M.B.A. in finance from New York University and his B.A. in women's studies with a concentration in art history from Yale. Art lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Allison Thrush, a private equity professional, and their two boys.Chris Fralic joined First Round Capital in 2006. Chris was most recently VP of Business Development at del.icio.us, which was acquired by Yahoo! in December 2005, focusing on distribution partnerships to integrate del.icio.us across a broad set of browsers, tools and publishing partners. Chris previously spent 6 years at eBay, and his last position there was a combination ad sales and business development role helping entertainment companies such as Twentieth Century Fox, Universal Music Group, Apple and Netflix reach and connect with eBay users. Chris previously led the Entertainment categories, managing the transaction, platform and supply/demand aspects of the books, movies and music marketplaces on eBay in the United States. Chris had been the VP of Business Development at Half.com, which was acquired by eBay in June 2000. Chris was one of the early employees of Half.com, where he helped develop many parts of the business including fund raising, content licensing, the affiliate program, supply and distribution partnerships, and advertising and sponsorships sales. Chris has over 20 years of technology industry experience, including significant Internet sales and business development roles since 1996. He was Vice President of Business Development at Nextron Communications, a Safeguard Scientifics funded startup focusing on web site development technology and services. He was Director of Business Development for the Enterprise division of America Online, which provided secure remote access and virtual private network services to businesses.I. Prior to that, he served as editor-in-chief of Windows Sources, where he led the magazine's push for exclusive coverage of Windows NT for business users. Prior to joining Intellext, he was the chairman and chief executive officer of Spirian Technologies, which he founded in 1996 and built to a venture-backed Inc. 500 software company before selling the company to SecureInfo Corporation in 2003. At Spirian, he raised more than $20 million in venture and debt funding from firms around the United States, and spearheaded the generation of revenue from major clients such as Cisco, Hewlett-Packard, UBS, Gateway, EDS, and Archipelago. His previous startup made the first phone/pda prototype with WAP browser in 1999 and he has been involved in a combination of ventures spanning biomedical, wireless, tv, and software. He was awarded the Alumni Award in 2001 by his alma mater Washington University for pioneering and innovating business systems amongst other awards. Michels began his career as a software designer for Hughes Aircraft and has been a consultant to companies in the management, financial, marketing and information technology industries. Presentation by: Arturo Artom, President and CEO, Your Truman Show: Arturo Artom, one of Europe's most successful serial tech entrepreneurs, founded San Francisco-based Your Truman Show in October 2006 to build the largest online inventory of personal stories on video and enable anyone to watch, rate and review people lives. A leader in the technology and telecom industry since he early 90s, Artom is widely recognized as the "father" of telecom market liberalization in Europe. In 1993 he founded Telsystem, the first telecom carrier to successfully challenge SIP fixed-line monopoly in the Italian market.
