Track III ME3 - Mobile Entertainment Mobile & Broadband Music: New Platforms + New Technology + More Music + Dynamic Marketplace The music industry, the mobile community and the broadband universe have now become near perfect if not reluctant partners. We got an inkling of what was coming twenty years ago when the Walkman changed the way people listened to music, but we didnt understand just how it would emerge until a couple of hundred million wirelessly connected handheld devices got sold to the consumer in one year. That is a whole other story. As a result of the mobile explosion on top of the fully realized broadband base, music and the consumer experience is continually evolving. With music as ringtone, mobile device as retail provider, mobile device as radio player, mobile device as music library and broadband-home connection as the backbone, the consumer is now fully immersed in a music experience. In this session we will not only address the question of device as a musical provider, we will address the issue of revenue generation in that process. With the industry experts in the session representing all sides of the mobile revenue question, it is bound to be informative.
