Isaac Babbs, CEO & Chairman, Tapatap: Isaac has spent more than 20 years as a software, media and entertainment executive successfully growing a wide range of media, gaming, and software businesses. He most recently served as VP and General Manager at InfoSpace Mobile Games. Prior, Isaac co-founded Atlas Mobile, and served as president and CEO until it was acquired by InfoSpace, Inc. (NASDAQ: INSP) in July 2004. Isaac successfully led Atlas Mobile in launching the largest and fastest growing multiplayer tournament for prize services in the world, with over 13 million tournament games played in its first year. Prior to Atlas Mobile, Isaac was President of Sorrent (now Glu Mobile, Inc.), a leading mobile game company where he was responsible for all business aspects of the company including carrier distribution, publishing, marketing, and business development He was also responsible for signing and launching basketball star Yao Ming as the first major professional athlete to make his electronic character debut in a cell phone game. Prior to Sorrent, Isaac was a senior business development executive at Macromedia where he co-founded shockwave.com US and shockwave.com Japan, the #1 interactive entertainment sites in their countries. Isaac was also general manager and VP of Macromedia's audio/video division, which he led and then successfully sold to Apple Computers. The division's main product, Final Cut Pro, is the world leader in non-linear editing. Prior to Macromedia, Isaac was VP of Entertainment Marketing at Silicon Graphics, Inc., where he leveraged SGI's technology and brand to grow the company's share of the global entertainment content creation and production market. Isaac also held senior management positions at Alias/Wavefront, an SGI company, and Alias Research, Inc., leading providers of 3D animation and design software for the entertainment and design industries. Isaac began his career with the Hewlett Packard Company and holds a BA in Chemistry from the University of Oregon. Isaac has been invited to speak at numerous industry conferences including MEF CTIA, E3, TWST and the Mobile Multiplayer Games Conference.
Shawn McMichael, Director of Sales and Marketing, Entertainment & Devices Division, Microsoft Corporation: Shawn oversees the Advertising Sales and Marketing for Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Advertising Business Group. E&D ABG develops the new types of advertising on Microsofts Games, Video, Mobile platforms. He is a recognized authority in the fields of innovation and strategy around Games Advertising. Prior to this position Shawn McMichael was the group product manager for Microsoft Casual Games where he was responsible for all aspects of sales generation including advertising, sponsorships and demand generation. During his thirteen year tenure at Microsoft, McMichael has worked as the group manager for Microsofts Direct Acquisition group where he was responsible for all MSNs CRM strategic planning. He also served as group marketing manager for Microsofts mobile devices division. McMichael has a bachelors degree in organizational communications from San Francisco State University.
Matthew Bellows, VP Consumer Strategy, Vivox: Matthew Bellows, For over ten years, Mathew Bellows has been building consumer experiences at the intersection of telecommunications and software. As an entrepreneur within larger organizations and in his own startups, Bellows has conceptualized, built and sold successful interactive media products. With a professional passion in emerging social entertainment platforms, Bellows is exploring new opportunities for designers to build social structure into their online products. Bellows is currently Vice President of Consumer Strategy at Vivox, responsible for all consumer-facing aspects of Vivox. Prior to Vivox, Bellows was the General Manager at Floodgate Entertainment, a Boston-based video game developer. Before joining Floodgate, Matthew was the co- founder, editor and publisher of WGR Media, the leading publication for mobile entertainment consumers. While leading WGR, he grew revenues to $1.5 million and distributed content through Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, Yahoo! and many others. He sold WGR to CNET Networks in 2003. Bellows has numerous industry game credits including mobile editions of Pirates of the Caribbean Multiplayer, EA Sports Madden NFL 2006 and Sid Meiers Civilization IV: War of Two Cities. He is a frequent speaker and guest lecturer, presenting key industry findings and knowledge sharing at events including CES, GDC, CTIA, E3 and SXSW. He has also given several talks and panels at various universities including Harvard, MIT and UCLA. He received his MBA with high honors from the Olin School of Management at Babson College.
Ruben Mookerjee, Director of Product Marketing, Gaming Business Unit, Logitech: A lifelong gamer with over 20 years of tech industry experience, Ruben Mookerjee serves as director of product marketing for Logitechs gaming business and oversees the companys entire line of peripherals for consoles, PC, and mobile gaming platforms. In 1998, Mr. Mookerjee joined Labtec as the managing director of the United Kingdom. After the acquisition of Labtec by Logitech in March 2001, Mr. Mookerjee was given expanded responsibility to manage the total U.K. subsidiary including the reorganization of the UK sales structure. Then in 2004, Mr. Mookerjee became the director of product marketing for the Gaming Business Unit. During his eight years with the company, Mr. Mookerjee has gained a broad experience expanding regional sales channels, developing marketing strategies and bringing products to market for North America, Europe, Japan, Latin America and parts of Asia. Prior to joining Logitech, Mr. Mookerjee spent nine years at HP as a product marketing engineer, product manager, and sales manager supporting the semiconductor test equipment and consumer printer lines. Mr. Mookerjee holds a Higher National Diploma (equivalent of Bachelors Degree) in Electrical Engineering from Kingston Polytechnic in the U.K. He has been a member of the U.K.s Institute of Directors (IOD) and the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators (ISTC).
Mike Vorhaus, President, Magid Advisors: Founded the Magid Internet and New Media research and consultation practice in 1995, with AOL and Excite as his first two clients. Mikes team has completed over 2,500 engagements with over 100 Internet clients. Mike began the Magid Gaming Practice in 2001 with EA and Sony Online as his first two clients. The Magid Game Practice now works with most of the major game publishers. Mike provides research and consulting services to a number of major traditional media companies in regard to their new media initiatives, as well as consulting a number of leading Internet and gaming companies. He has also provided advice to venture capital and private equity firms in regard to investments in the media space. Mike has been involved in strategic and tactical consulting, including the launch of new services and programming, as well as development and implementation of online and offline marketing programs. Mike has also been extensively involved in video and PC gaming strategies for a number of our companies, as well as the development of game concepts. Mike has consulted on a number of film projects such as Youve Got Mail and The Matrix. He holds a B.S. in psychology and sociology from Wesleyan University and has worked as a fundraiser and transfer of technology officer at the California Institute of Technology and the University of California. Mike also worked for the U.S. House of Representatives, The U.S. Senate, and for two Administrations in the White House.
