For lack of a better term, the Web 2.0 explosion has put in motion a never-ending set of possibilities for the broadband and mobile platforms. The buzzwords of search, widgets and personalization have placed the idea and implementation of information, advertising and commerce into a fluid state. Roland Deal, Co-Founder, Kadoink: Most recently Senior Vice President at Grey Ad vertising in San Francisco managing a global B2C/B2B client portfolio. Co-Founder of bSource.com (acquired by Computer Associates 2005), Roland brings 17 years of integrated marketing expertise developed while at Saatchi & Saatchi, Dow Chemical, Wall Street Journal. Roland has dual Master degrees from Columbia University and Haas Business School at University of California Berkeley and a BS, Marketing from Penn State.
Mei Lin Ng, Co-Founder and VP Special Projects, mig33: Mei Lin oversees the marketing, communications and customer service for mig33; a mobile community that is loved by millions of consumers all around the world. As co-founder of mig33 in 2003, Mei Lin was heavily involved in the product development process. mig33 delivers a mobile service (popular internet services incl. messaging, chat, pictures, profiles, VOIP) that addresses everyday consumer needs (communications choice on the mobile). As the popularity of the services grew into a mobile community with millions of users across Asia, Africa and Europe, the founding team secured venture capital and relocated the company to the US in 2007, to further accelerate the business. Before co-founding mig33, Mei Lin was the marketing manager with Australian-based financial services firm, Sanford Securities Limited (prior to the company's acquisition by IWL Limited). There, Mei Lin substantially influenced the growth and sustainability of the retail and wholesale divisions during a period of depressed markets. Revenues from these divisions accounted for over 50 percent of Sanford's total revenues (over $20m per annum). In addition, Mei Lin was involved with corporate dealings and public affairs issues during Sanford's engagement with both the OM Group (now OMX) and IWL Limited. Mei Lin has served as a panelist at several mobile industry conferences in the US. Mei Lin has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with Honors in Marketing from the University of Western Australia.
Brent Brookler, CEO, Treemo: Brent is a mobile and internet technologies innov ator and entrepreneur. In 2005, Brookler started Treemo, a real time social media platform company that runs Treemo.com and other mobile and web social media sites. Treemo allows users to create interactive channels filled with photos, video, text and audio that is available on the web or on mobile phones. Prior to Treemo, Brookler was co-founder and president of games and entertainment at Mobliss, Inc., where he created the mobile games business and strategy, which under his direction, exceeded $6 million in revenue. Mobliss was sold in January 2004 to Index Corporation, one of the largest mobile content providers in the world. While at Mobliss, he was responsible for delivering some of the worlds biggest brands to the small screen, including The New York Times Crossword, American Idol, and Family Feud the most popular multiplayer game at the time.
Eyal Gever, founder and CEO, Gizmoz: Eyal Gever has been dedicated to leading the convergence of technology and art and enabling an advanced medium of visual expression for people and businesses. Eyal is the founder and CEO of Gizmoz and has been leading Gizmoz since its inception. As the leader of the company's vision and business strategy, he originally conceived Gizmoz as "Pixar to the people" bringing together the full experience of story telling and cutting age multimedia technologies, in a rich-media format that is fun, smart and user friendly. Eyal is a visual communications visionary and has received numerous awards for his innovation in multimedia design and technology. He has over a decade's experience implementing his design ideas into Internet-based products, primarily in the area of consumer user generated multimedia and communication. Eyal attended Jerusalem's renowned Betzalel Academy of the Art and Design.
Mike More, CEO and Founder, Nabbr: Mike More is a serial entrepreneur with over 18 years experience in the music industry. Prior to founding Nabbr, Mike founded a highly successful music production and publishing company. Mike's companies worked with a wide range of artists such as Don Henley, Britney Spears and Garth Brooks selling over 20 million CDs worldwide. Mike is a voting member of the Producers & Engineers wing of NARAS. Bill Cromie has been with Nabbr since its inception. Typical of his Gen-Y generation, Bill is an early adopter and lives and breathes all things Web 2.0. A graduate of NYU, he brings over 10 years of software development experience, having started programming while still in high school. At Nabbr, Bill leads the software team in its continual development of the core widget platform. Previously, Bill designed software systems for the real estate development market.
Matt Palmer, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Stardoll: As Executive Vice President and General Manager for Stardoll, Matt oversees the companys U.S. business and strategy out of its Los Angeles, California office. Matt supports Stardolls ongoing global expansion and drives U.S. growth and revenues by working to develop integrated partnerships both with influential personalities and within the entertainment industryfrom advertisers, television networks, music labels, film studios, celebrities, musicians, and brands. These relationships expand the Stardoll.com user base, and increase traffic to the website. Matt reports to CEO Mattias Miksche. Prior to joining Stardoll, Matt was named Advertising Ages 2006 Entertainment Marketer of the Year while serving as Senior Vice President, Marketing, Disney Channel, at the Disney ABC Cable Networks Group. In this capacity, Matt led all ad sales and marketing initiatives while managing the creative direction of on-channel promotion, online content and off-channel marketing for Disney Channel U.S. and its critically acclaimed learning-based programming block for preschoolers, Playhouse Disney.
Shergul Arshad, VP, Business Development, StyleFeeder: Shergul is an accomplish ed executive with over 12 years of professional experience in online business development, eCommerce and traditional and non-traditional media. Shergul started his career at traditional advertising agencies, having spent seven years at Young & Rubicam and then Arnold Worldwide. After receiving his M.B.A. from the University of Michigan Business School, Shergul worked at FairMarket in sales and business development. He was instrumental in the sale of FairMarket to eBay, Inc., and he subsequently spent the next 2 years with eBay in California. Shergul was hired away from eBay to run Business Development for Sports Loyalty Systems, where he structured partnerships with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks. Shergul just recently joined one of Boston's hottest Web 2.0 companies, Top10 Media, a company backed by Highland Capital. At Top10 Media, Shergul has primarily focused his efforts on partnerships that grow traffic and memberships for emerging Social Shopping leader, StyleFeeder. Shergul was a featured speaker at the PromoExpo in Chicago while working for eBay, and was a featured speaker at the Los Angeles Dodgers sponsor retreat while with Sports Loyalty Systems. He holds a B.A. from Harvard University, and an M.B.A from the University of Michigan. Originally from Florence, Italy, Shergul currently resides in Lexington, MA with his wife and two kids.
Gautam Bhargava, co-founder and CEO, SnapTell, Inc.:Gautam is co-founder and CEO of SnapTell, and has been part of teams building innovative software solutions for over twenty years. Most recently, Gautam was co-founder, CTO & VP Engineering of Vialto Corp., a venture funded company acquired by Cisco in 2004. Prior to that, Gautam was at Webvan Group, as a member of the Platform Architecture Board. Prior to Webvan, Gautam was part of the founding team at TimesTen Performance Software (acquired by Oracle), a high-performance, main-memory SQL-database company. Previously, Gautam held senior kernel-engineering positions at IBM Silicon Valley Lab and Silicon Graphics. Gautam is a co-inventor on several granted patents in the area of data mining and database technology and has published papers in leading database journals and conferences such as SIGMOD, VLDB, TKDE, etc. He earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from Iowa State University, and a B.Tech. in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India.
