All Video-All the Time: Next Generation in Media Technologies Broadband and Mobile - Content & Advertising
As video reaches into all sectors of the media space, content, the technology, the devices, the infrastructure, the entire way that companies and groups, large and small approach their work will and are now altering. All Video All The Time is not in the future, it is happening now. What had been a web news group is now a video production unit. What had been a print publication with a website becomes an indie television network. What had been a blog becomes a vlog. The consumer is expecting to see all-video all the time and all companies, big and small, from an in-house corporate communications team to a giant magazine conglomerate; from a school newspapaer to a TV network are going to have to think in terms of multi-platform video 24/7 if they wish to break through the crowd and serve their customer base. All-video all the time is a challenge but it may also be the most exciting hurdle the technology industry has created yet.

Waikit Lau, Co-Founder and President/COO, ScanScout: Waikit has extensive exper ience building emerging media businesses and technologies. In his role as Co-Founder and President/COO of ScanScout, Waikit leads the vision and growth of the companys business operations. Prior to co-founding ScanScout, Waikit was the Director of Strategy and Business Development at Scientific Atlanta (a division of Cisco) where he helped lead product strategy for next-generation media delivery platforms. Before Scientific Atlanta, he was an investor at Bessemer Venture Partners, investing in and working with early-stage technology companies. Prior to serving as a VC, Waikit co-founded Photo.net, one of the largest online photo-databases and served as its VP of Product and Business Development. He has also consulted to the CTO and COO of Technology at Merrill Lynch in the technology strategy and operation areas. Waikit holds Bachelors degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Finance from MIT and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He is based in Boston, MA.
Rajeev Raman, Founder & CEO, mywaves: Rajeev is the founder and CEO of mywaves . His vision to deliver free video entertainment to mobile phones around the globe is predicated on his personal passion for all things video and a desire to empower consumers with anytime-access to their favorite video content. The premise has taken off and driving unprecedented growth. mywaves has quickly become the worlds largest mobile video destination for consumers. Prior to founding the company, Rajeev was an Entrepreneur-In-Residence at Menlo Ventures where he incubated mywaves and assisted with other investment activities. Before that, Rajeev was a founding executive at Questra Corporation, a Menlo Ventures portfolio company, where he led business and product development. He also served on Questras board of directors. Rajeev has held consulting and technical positions with such companies as Motorola Semiconductors, Infineon, LSI Logic, and Intel, as well as ETI and American Heart Association. He has a BSEE, an MS in Imaging Science and an MBA in Finance from the University of Rochester. Rajeevs personal interests include cycling, running and table tennis. He volunteers with TiE (Association of Indus Entrepreneurs), and the India Literacy Program. He has recently spoken at SXSW, Billboard Mobile Entertainment Live at CTIA, Dow Jones Wireless Innovations and Digital Hollywood Fall.
Cynthia Francis, founder and CEO, Reality Digital: A dedicated serial entrepreneur with over 12 years in the field of digital media management, Cynthia has founded or managed companies and departments for Apple Computer, The Content Group, eMotion, Cinebase Software and the DMM Group. Her corporate and leadership experience over the past two decades have made her a frequent speaker on topics including digital media, user-generated content (UGC) and women entrepreneurs. Cynthia is gratified to see the advent of Web 2.0, despite the challenge of simultaneously running a company and raising three daughters. Cynthia has a BA in Drama and a BA in Development Studies from the University of California at Berkeley.
Glenn Gaudet, Chief Marketing Officer, Treedia Labs: As one of the pioneers in the use of technology in direct marketing, Glenn Gaudet brings to Treedia Labs comprehensive strategic and product marketing knowledge in technology and media. Prior to Treedia Labs, Gaudet was the Chief Marketing Officer for Pulvermedia, an integrated media company that specialized in the voice and video industries. As CMO, Gaudet was responsible for all aspects of branding and marketing for the entire portfolio which included event, media & online offerings.
Brendon Mills, CEO and President, RipCode, Inc.: Brendon Mills is a serial entrep reneur in the communications technology market. Prior to founding RipCode in 2005, Mills served as founder, CEO and president of GENBAND (General Bandwidth, Inc.). From its inception in 1999, Mills led the company's pioneering efforts in the packet voice equipment industry. During his five years at General Bandwidth, Mills guided the company through one of the telecommunication industry's most tumultuous times, successfully raising $180 million in private capital, developing an award winning VoIP gateway, and securing eight patents and several marquis customers in the burgeoning broadband voice industry. Mills has also held positions at Cisco Systems and was the director of product marketing for NetSpeed, Inc, a developer of DSL broadband technology acquired by Cisco Systems in 1998. Prior to NetSpeed, Mills also held positions at Dell Computers and Dallas-based NetWorth, Inc., an Ethernet equipment manufacturer acquired by Compaq Computers. Mills holds a BA degree from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri.
Karen L. Webster, President, Market Platform Dynamics: Market Platform Dynam ics (MPD) is a management consulting firm that helps companies profit from industry disruption. Karen Webster serves as an advisor and member of the board for a number of companies operating in the payment, technology and digital media industries. Karen has a long history of consulting experience, having served as the Managing Director of Global Marketing and Planning for PricewaterhouseCoopers US$6 billion management consulting practice. She led the firms eBusiness Strategic Marketing taskforce and created the strategic positioning and go-to-market approach for this firm-wide initiative. Karen later served as Chief Operating Officer for a US$125 million consulting subsidiary that is part of the MMC family of companies. In 2002, Karen launched her own B2B strategic marketing consultancy which later combined with MPD. Karen is the author of numerous articles on marketing strategy, loyalty, product design/bundling and pricing and platform strategies. Her most recent publication is Designing the Right Product Offerings, MIT Sloan Management Review, Fall 2007. Karen also served as an adjunct faculty member at her alma mater, Johns Hopkins University, where she developed and taught graduate level courses on business-to- business marketing. Karen was a key contributor to Catalyst Code: The Secrets Behind the Worlds Most Dynamic Companies, Harvard Business School Press, 2007 (by MPDs David Evans and Richard Schmalensee) and is credited with directing the research for the book and devising its trademarked 6-step Framework. Karen is a passionate philanthropist and active member of the community. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where she serves as a member of its Executive Council for the Womens Cancer Program, Patient/Family Advisory Council and the Boards Committee on Quality. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and member of the Board of the United Way of Massachusetts Bay. She is the co- founder of twoAM (Two Women on A Mission), a Dana Farber program focused on raising awareness and funds for breast and ovarian cancer research. Karen recently launched Living Conversations (www.livingconversations.com), a web- based community of breast cancer survivors, which was recently profiled on The Today Show.
