Isaac Babbs, CEO & Chairman, Tapatap: Isaac has spent more than 20 years as a software, media and entertainment executive successfully growing a wide range of media, gaming, and software businesses. He most recently served as VP and General Manager at InfoSpace Mobile Games. Prior, Isaac co-founded Atlas Mobile, and served as president and CEO until it was acquired by InfoSpace, Inc. (NASDAQ: INSP) in July 2004. Isaac successfully led Atlas Mobile in launching the largest and fastest growing multiplayer tournament for prize services in the world, with over 13 million tournament games played in its first year. Prior to Atlas Mobile, Isaac was President of Sorrent (now Glu Mobile, Inc.), a leading mobile game company where he was responsible for all business aspects of the company including carrier distribution, publishing, marketing, and business development He was also responsible for signing and launching basketball star Yao Ming as the first major professional athlete to make his electronic character debut in a cell phone game. Prior to Sorrent, Isaac was a senior business development executive at Macromedia where he co-founded shockwave.com US and shockwave.com Japan, the #1 interactive entertainment sites in their countries. Isaac was also general manager and VP of Macromedia's audio/video division, which he led and then successfully sold to Apple Computers. The division's main product, Final Cut Pro, is the world leader in non-linear editing. Prior to Macromedia, Isaac was VP of Entertainment Marketing at Silicon Graphics, Inc., where he leveraged SGI's technology and brand to grow the company's share of the global entertainment content creation and production market. Isaac also held senior management positions at Alias/Wavefront, an SGI company, and Alias Research, Inc., leading providers of 3D animation and design software for the entertainment and design industries. Isaac began his career with the Hewlett Packard Company and holds a BA in Chemistry from the University of Oregon. Isaac has been invited to speak at numerous industry conferences including MEF CTIA, E3, TWST and the Mobile Multiplayer Games Conference.
Ed Zobrist, President, Sierra Online, a division of Vivendi Games: Ed Zobrist is responsible for Sierra Onlines game initiatives for console and PC platforms, including publishing FreeStyle Basketball for the U.S. market and the development of titles for Microsofts Xbox Live Arcade. Zobrist previously was senior vice president, Global Marketing for Vivendi Games. In this role he was responsible for overseeing worldwide marketing initiatives for brands such as Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Leisure Suit Larry, Empire Earth, SWAT, The Incredible Hulk, Scarface and 50 Cent. Prior to joining Vivendi Games, Zobrist was a founding partner and president of Zono, Inc. and ASAP Games, a consulting and videogame software development company. Among his clients were Electronic Arts, Sony, Sega, Fisher-Price, Universal Studios, PopCap and Disney Interactive. While consulting for Disney Interactive, he led the companys marketing efforts to achieve three top-10 selling games including the number-one hit, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Previously, Zobrist held several senior level marketing positions for Mattel including director of Marketing, Hot Wheels and senior marketing manager for the Boys Toys division. His experience also includes a role as product manager for the Kenner division of General Mills where he led The Real Ghostbusters product line to more than $100 million in sales. Zobrist holds a master's degree in business administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelors degree in biology from Columbia University.
Brad Singer is Executive Vice President of Products and Markets for PaymentOne , a leading online payment solutions provider. Brad leads the companys overall market strategy, new product initiatives, and partnership activities. Brad has over 18 years of business and general management experience in the media, payment and technology markets. Previously, Brad served as Vice President of Strategic Marketing and Content Licensing at NewsEdge, an early pioneer in content syndication, which achieved annual growth rates of over 40%, consistent profitability, and a successful IPO during his 8-year tenure (later acquired by Thomson Corporation). Brad also served as General Manager of the NewsPage.com business, an early innovator in on-line fee-based services. Most recently, Brad served as Vice President Marketing and Business Development at TeleKnowledge, a billing and e-commerce infrastructure company. Brad has also held management positions at Citibank and General Electric and served on the Dun and Bradstreet executive Advisory Board. He earned a BS in Computer Science and Economics from Tufts University, and holds an MBA in Finance from the Wharton Business School. Brad has been featured in the technology and business press, and has been a frequent speaker at industry events.
Karl Mehta, Co-Founder & CEO, PLAYSPAN INC.: Karl Mehta brings over 16 years of experience to PlaySpan in founding and building high-tech businesses in the US and international markets. Prior to co-founding PlaySpan Inc., Karl was part of the founding team at MobileAria Inc. (acquired by Wireless Matrix) and co-founder/ CEO of OmniLabs Inc.. Prior to that, he held executive positions at Hughes leading new business and technology development. Karl is Charter member of TiE-Silicon Valley and board member of Ecosystem Ventures.
Andrew Schneider, Founder & President, Live Gamer: Andrew Schneider has been a digital entertainment industry leader and catalyst for emerging business opportunities at the crossroads of media and technology for over 14 years. Prior to founding Live Gamer, Schneider served as executive vice president of marketing at Wind-up Records, the worlds leading independent record label, where he focused on digital innovation. Previously, during his eight year tenure at Sony Pictures Digital, Schneider developed and launched award-winning interactive marketing campaigns for major entertainment franchises, developed consumer broadband content services, and launched user generated media tools and applications. Schneider began his career in at NBC Television Network, where he inaugurated the companys interactive marketing practice with the networks first online presence.
Gene Mauro, Vice President of Business Development, Bunchball: Previously he served as CEO and Executive Producer at Myelin Media, a video game publisher financed by billionaire Carl Icahn. Prior, Mr. Mauro was the founder and CEO of Capital Entertainment Group (CEG), the video game industrys first indie production studio, and he also was President of Dotted Line Entertainment, a services company specializing in the licensing, distribution and project finance of video games.
Jonathan Weitz, Principal, IBB Consulting: Jonathan is a principal with IBB Consu lting, where he is responsible for leading pioneering initiatives from strategic analysis and business model definition to organization and operations design. Jonathan works closely with senior leadership to coordinate complex, cross-division programs in the media, cable and wireless industries. Jonathan is a seasoned business strategy, operations and change consultant, with experience in Broadband Media Strategy, Product and Service Strategy, Market Entry, Marketing and Sales Effectiveness, Customer Acquisition/Retention, Portfolio Management, M&A Due Diligence, IT Strategy, Organization Design and Change Management. Jonathan has led initiatives which drive revenue through monetization of broadband content. He has published white-papers and articles on topics pertinent to the Media industry such as Broadband TV and has conducted research on global trends in advanced advertising and mobile content. Over the course of his career he has advised companies such as Comcast and Viacom. Prior to joining IBB Consulting, Jonathan was a manager in BearingPoint's strategy practice. He holds a BA in Organizational Psychology and Communications from the University of Michigan and a Masters in Business Administration from New York University.
Teemu Huuhtanen, Executive VP, Marketing, Ad Sales and Business Development, Sulake Corporation and President, North America, Sulake Inc.: As executive vice president, marketing, ad sales and business development, Sulake Corporation and president, North America, Sulake Inc., Teemu Huuhtanen is instrumental in leading the continued growth of one of worlds most popular online social networking and gaming communities for teens, Habbo.com, Sulakes top property. Since its launch in 2000, Habbo has grown to more than 8 million unique monthly users worldwide, and has been launched in 32 countries on six continents. Its highly-trafficked North American sites, headed by Huuhtanen, receive over 1.6 million unique users per month. In 2003 Huuhtanen was named vice president, sales for Sulake, overseeing sales at the companys headquarters in Finland. He has been an industry leader in developing new immersive advertising opportunities and creating interactive branding techniques that maximize the opportunities offered by social networking and the gaming environment. Prior to joining Habbo, Huuhtanen spent several years in senior posts for international digital entertainment start-up companies. American Venture Magazine named him one of the Top 40 Under 40 executives to watch in the technology industry for 2007. Huuhtanen is based at Sulakes North American headquarters in Santa Monica, Calif.
