Steven Abraham, Global Leader, Media & Entertainment Industry, IBM Global Business Services: Steven Abraham has worldwide responsibility for IBMs Global Business Services for the Media and Entertainment industry. GBS is the management consulting, systems integration and applications outsourcing arm of IBM. He is responsible for global sales, revenue and profit. Under his leadership the M&E business has broadened to include filmed entertainment, television, media networks, games, music, publishing, information providers, advertising, consumer products, theme parks and sports - and online variants of all these businesses. He has expanded the business throughout North America, Europe and Asia Pacific and particularly in emerging markets such as India and China. Mr. Abrahams primary role has been building and operating the business, but he also has been directly involved with most of the worlds leading M&E players. He has helped lead the development of M&E industry solutions for the digital consumer and the digital supply chain. He is also responsible for guiding IBMs M&E thought leadership program, which has focused on industry transformation enabled by digital media, IP networks, and interactive distribution channels. Before joining IBM Mr. Abraham was Global Managing Partner of the Entertainment, Media and Communications consulting practice at Pricewaterhouse Coopers Consulting. Prior to PwCC, Mr. Abraham managed software development at Xerox Systems Development, and was a key member of a group that collaborated with Xeroxs famed Palo Alto Research Center to pioneer products and services that helped form the foundation for todays digital consumer services. He also was involved in the early development of the Arpanet, which led to the creation of the Internet.
Lisa Black, Senior Vice President, Marketing & Digital Media, Si TV: As SVP of Marketing & Digital Media, Lisa Black spearheads the development and implementation of the marketing strategy for both Si TVs on-air programming and the Si TV digital network, which encompasses online, broadband, wireless and video download initiatives. Since joining Si TV, Black has shepherded the growth of Si TVs digital presence. She developed and launched the first-ever digital talent incubator for young Latinos, integrating online and on-air programming while pioneering talent integration models that serve the evolving needs of advertisers. Black has also played a key role in launching customized 360 cross-platform campaigns for advertisers that include on-air, online, wireless, PR and grassroots elements. The initiatives ultimately deliver up to five times the projected number of qualified leads, driving product usage while reinforcing brand positioning. In 2002, Black became Lifetime Televisions youngest vice president, leading the market development of interactive technologies. During her tenure at the network, she launched Lifetime Wireless for Women and Lifetime Broadband Video Lounge, overseeing product development, revenue subscription and affiliate relations. Black built LifetimeTV.com as a direct consumer marketing platform that has grown from 150,000 to more than 2 million loyal consumer names leveraged to generate ad sales revenue. Previously, Black served as director of strategic planning & business development at Food Network, and held financial positions at Random House, Broadway Media and KPMG. Recognized as one of Multichannel News 2008 Women to Watch and CableWorlds Most Powerful Women in Cable, Black is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and seminars. She has been featured in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and other periodicals, and is often cited in the press as an industry expert. A graduate of Bucknell University with degrees in accounting and English literature, Black is also a CPA.
Jason Seiken, Senior VP of Interactive, PBS: Mr. Seiken oversees PBS award-winning new media content and services, including pbs.org, pbskids.org, pbskidsgo.org, pbsparents.org, as well as emerging broadband and mobile delivery platforms. He is responsible for implementation of both short and long-range strategies for new and existing digital media platforms in collaboration with member stations and a wide range of outside producers and contributors. Prior to PBS, he was based in London, where he led content development for AOLs businesses in the UK, France, and Germany as Vice President, Content and Programming for AOL Europe. In addition, Mr. Seiken was the founding Executive Editor of washingtonpost.com, responsible for leading the creation of one of the premier newspaper Web sites in the world.
Jeff Shultz, founder, CEO, CONCERT.TV: An innovator in the cable television space, Jeff Shultz was among the first executives to begin forging relationships in the nascent VOD programming industry. In early 2002 he co-founded CONCERT.TV, one of the nations first VOD television properties and the first television network dedicated to music performance and documentary. Shultz oversees distribution, business development and advertising sales for the network, securing deals with partners such as Comcast, Cox Communications, Cingular, Starbucks and Coca-Cola. Shultz began his career as an attorney at Linklaters in London, UK where he specialized in cross-border mergers and acquisitions and hedge fund management. Shultz then changed paths and delved into business development in the emerging digital media space. As director of business development for NBCi, the online arm of NBC television network, Shultz focused on new media entertainment and e-commerce deals for one of the nations leading broadband Internet portals. Shultz graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science, and from Georgetown University Law Center.
Sean Bunner, Operating Vice President, Advanced Services, HSN - Sean Bunner serves as the Operating Vice President of Advanced Services for HSN. In this role he is responsible for the business development, operations and marketing of HSNs Interactive Media applications including: Shop by Remote (iTV), Video on Demand, Broadband and Mobile services. Bunner actively supports key industry initiatives including the CableLabs eTV Working Group, CTAM onDemand Consortium - Advanced Technology Sub-committee, and Academy of Television Arts & Sciences 2007 Interactive Television Emmy Blue Ribbon Panel. Before joining HSN, Mr. Bunner worked in investment banking for 5 years at Tunstall Consulting where he was the lead Director for technology company financings and strategic plans, including many telecommunications related deals, such as SMATV operators and cable related technology providers. Prior to this, he worked at Honeywell for 7 years in various Corporate Finance roles. Bunner is a CPA and graduate of the University of South Florida where he received a Masters in Business Administration and B.S. Accounting. He resides in Flordia with his wife Ellen and their three children.
Robert E. Quicksilver, Chief Content Officer, Tidal TV: As Chief Content Officer of TidalTV, Robert oversees all content acquisition, development and strategy for the broadband television platform. Robert has over fifteen years of senior executive level experience in local television, network television and digital media. Prior to joining TidalTV, Robert played a key role in developing a local video content initiative for Yahoo! Media Group and securing an agreement with the CBS Television Station Group in October 2006. That agreement represented the first time that a major broadcast station group had syndicated its local video content to an unaffiliated portal. From 1999-2005, Robert served as President, Network Distribution, FOX Broadcast Company, where he oversaw the business relationship between FOX and its U.S. distribution network of 180+ affiliate stations. In that role, Robert helped formulate and implement FOXs entertainment, sports, news, promotion, distribution, and digital media initiatives across that affiliate body. During his tenure at Fox, Robert was actively involved in a number of broadcast-based regulatory initiatives and, for one year, ran the News Corporation government relations office in Washington D.C. in addition to his network duties. Prior to Fox, Robert served as Vice President, General Counsel, of Sinclair Broadcast Group, a publicly traded local television station group, and prior to that, as Vice President, General Counsel, of River City Broadcasting, a privately held station group. Robert has a J.D from the University of Michigan Law School and B.A. from Dartmouth College, where he graduated summa cum laude.
S. Daniel Leon, Head of Strategic Partnerships, Hiro-Media: S. Daniel Leon, as the Head of Strategic Partnerships for Hiro-Media LTD, is responsible for leading Hiros business development as well as seeking and securing strategic alliances in the U.S. Leon brings more than a decade of experience in online media strategy and business development. Prior to joining Hiro, in October 2007, Leon served as Vice President of Content and Business Development for SIVOO (OC: SIVO) where he drove SIVOOs content acquisition, distribution, and business development strategy. He is also a co-founder of ekkoTV, an innovative live video discussion platform. Before SIVOO and ekkoTV Leon served as senior consultant and Director of Business Development for Brand UP, a leading Israeli branding company. He led its expansion into the American market while advising mid-size companies on their strategy and branding efforts. Previously Leon was a Vice President with the Gallup Organization, a leading opinion research and consulting company, where he led business development efforts in the Midwest region. Leon holds an Economics degree from Brown University and resides in Teaneck, NJ with his wife and daughter.
Will Richmond, Editor/Publisher, VideoNuze: Will Richmond is editor and publisher of VideoNuze, an online publication which provides analysis and news aggregation for broadband video decision-makers available at www.videonuze.com. Will is also president and founder of Broadband Directions LLC (www.broadbanddirections.com), a market intelligence, consulting and publishing firm specializing in broadband-delivered video. Will has worked in the broadband, cable TV, content, network infrastructure and software industries for 20 years. He is an acknowledged thought-leader in the fast-growing broadband video area whose insights are sought out by C-level executives, venture capitalists, journalists and others. Earlier in his career, Will worked at Continental Cablevision (then the 3rd largest cable operator), where he was VP Business Development and part of the founding team of Continental's pioneering broadband Internet access service "Highway1". Subsequently he served as VP Business Development for CMGI's iCast and for Narad Networks. He was also the founder of PoliticalWag.com, a popular political discussion/community site. Will has spoken or moderated at numerous industry conferences and currently serves on the CTAM New England and CTAM New York board of directors. Will has a BS from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
