NICHOLAS REICHENBACH - Executive Vice President of Publishing for Magmic. As Executive Vice President of Publishing for Magmic Games, Nicholas helps drive the overall strategy for the company and heads the publishing and licensing agreement negotiations for mobile entertainment rights with the industrys top publishers. Nicholas has over ten years of experience in the music, media, technology, games and entertainment industries. He is responsible for launching the worlds largest direct to customer (D2C) BlackBerry entertainment portal, Bplay, which houses top mobile content exclusively for BlackBerry users worldwide. Nicholas has successfully brokered international partnerships with companies such as MTV, Universal Music, Hands On Mobile and Glu Mobile through various projects ranging from digital asset management, IP licensing, and B2B/D2C mobile content distribution/publishing to integrated marketing campaigns.
Derrick Morton, CEO, ourWorld: Derrick has been a games and online entertainment executive for more than 14 years. During his career he has led the development of over 200 digital entertainment projects. Over the course of the past seven years he has been a key executive at the top online game websites - iWin, Uproar, Flipside, Virtual Vegas and GameHouse. Most recently he was General Manager of Mobile Games for RealNetworks, a business unit he founded. At RealNetworks Derrick negotiated long-term distribution agreements with Cingular, Verizon, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone Global, among others. Additionally, he was singularly responsible for negotiating the mobile rights to South Park, MTV Cribs, and The Apprentice. Derrick was a key executive at GameHouse, which was acquired in 2004 by RealNetworks. GameHouse subsequently became Real's studio for Xbox, PC, Mobile and online game development. Derrick received a BA, magna cum laude, from USC Film School and an MBA from UCLA's Anderson School.
Rob Seaver, CEO & Founder, Vivox: Recently named one of the Top 20 Most Influential People in the MMO Industry, by Beckett Massive Online Gamer magaizine, Rob Seaver brings extensive experience in communications and online services to Vivox. Before joining industry pioneer Jeff Pulver in launching Vivox in 2005, Seaver was head of strategy, chief financial officer, and a member of the management board of Einsteinet AG, where he helped build the company from start-up to Euro 65 million in revenue and 440 employees. As managing director of Madrid-based Jazzya Investments, he planned and executed the launch of new communication and media ventures. Prior to that, he held positions in investment banking at Goldman Sachs International and as an attorney with Sullivan & Cromwell in London. Seaver holds a JD from the University of California, Berkeley, and an AB degree from Harvard College.
Keith Katz, Chief Marketing Officer at Cellufun: Keith Katz was previously the Head of North American Marketing for mobile gaming company Gameloft. Prior to Gameloft, Katz worked for Atari in global brand management and led his own startup called Little Upstarts that promotes physical development in infants and toddlers. Katz also brings experience from a stint in brand marketing for the NFL and an early career with Feld Entertainment where he marketed family brands such as Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus and Disney on Ice. Katz received his MBA from Columbia Business School and his BA from Tulane University.
JAMIE OTTILIE, President and Chief Operating Officer Abandon Interactive Entertainment: Jamie Ottilie is a versatile executive with 15 years experience in designing, licensing and producing top-performing video games across multiple platforms. An accomplished executive producer, he offers a rare blend of strategic business planning, creative vision, entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen and has built a track record of creating winning businesses and product strategies for companies from the ground up and in turnaround mode. Ottilie began his video game career shortly after graduation when he joined the game developer Cyberdreams. During his 5-year career with Cyberdreams, Ottilie oversaw the development of numerous innovative products, which pushed the boundaries of current technology. In 1996, Ottilie co-founded Hilbert Interactive Group, an interactive gaming agency which he and his partner led to revenues of $20 million in its second year. Just two years later, Ottilie was ready to pursue his vision of establishing a top-notch video game development studio and Lucky Chicken Games was born. Lucky Chicken Games, recognized as a top interactive entertainment development company, is comprised of industry leaders from companies such as Sierra, 3DO, Midway, THQ and Mattel. Ottilie served as executive producer on each of the companys 10 titles including TycoRC: Assault with a Battery; and Casper (nominated for a Publishers Choice Award). He also coordinated development deals with Mattel, 3DO, THQ, and TDK and secured a significant licensing deal with Sony Pictures. In 2005, Lucky Chicken Games merged with AEGF Mobile Games Company, which later became Abandon Interactive Entertainment. Under Abandon Interactive Entertainment, Ottilie led the team in developing Freaky Creatures, an interactive multi-gaming universe that allows players to collect, customize and battle their self-created creatures. Players, or trainers, can enter their creatures in one-on-one battles against other creatures or have their creature take part in inter-galactic adventures. Freaky Creatures serves to bridge the gap between the digital and the real world, encouraging players to immerse themselves in an imaginary world of galactic battles against evil forces. The new project is scheduled to launch in spring 2008 and targets boys from the ages of 8 to 13, as well as core gamers. Ottilie holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Pepperdine University and currently lives in Malibu, California.
Sean Ryan, CEO, Meez: Sean Ryan brings over a decade of sales, technology and brand experience as maniaTV's VP of Sales Operations. During his tenure maniaTV has produced branded entertainment for more than 50 of America's top brands, including Coke, AT&T, Verizon, Sony, Warner Bros., Gillette, Frito Lay, Ford, Honda and more. Before coming to maniaTV, Sean was the East Coast manager of sales for the People Digital Group where he was responsible for running East Coast Sales for People.com and EW.com. He also managed People Magazine's New York advertising sales staff. Prior to that, Sean was the NY Sales Manager at Time Inc, where he lead the NY sales team for the launch of Business 2.0. He also has experience as a Technology Manager for Rollingstone Magazine, where he lead development for consumer and technology categories.
Karl Mehta, CEO, PlaySpan Inc.: Karl Mehta, Co-Founder & CEO, PLAYSPAN INC.: Karl Mehta brings over 16 years of experience to PlaySpan in founding and building high-tech businesses in the US and international markets. Prior to co-founding PlaySpan Inc., Karl was part of the founding team at MobileAria Inc. (acquired by Wireless Matrix) and co-founder/ CEO of OmniLabs Inc.. Prior to that, he held executive positions at Hughes leading new business and technology development. Karl is Charter member of TiE-Silicon Valley and board member of Ecosystem Ventures.
Marcia Zellers has been leading high profile digital initiatives since 1994, when she co-founded MTV Interactive in New York. Now LA based, she specializes in digital strategy, product development, business development and creative for media and entertainment. In 2006, Zellers was listed as #3 on the Hollywood Reporter/Producers Guild Digital 50, a compendium of the most influential and innovative people in digital media. Zellers was a two-year Co-Chair of the Emmy Awards Committee for the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Interactive Media Peer Group, Chair of the 2005 European Broadcasters Union Conference on Cross-Media Strategies on Marketing, 2004 International Mentor for the Australian XMedia Lab, and is a frequent speaker and panelist at industry events. Zellers previously heading up digital media for A&E Television. Prior to that, she ran the American Film Institutes AFI Digital Content Lab, an industry R&D center that pairs design and technology experts with traditional media companies to create innovative digital media properties. From breaking new ground on an early video entertainment portal as the Supervising Producer of Warner Bros. Onlines late-90s Entertaindom, to creating and producing some of the earliest interactive TV programming and live digital events at MTV in the mid-90s, Zellers has a reputation as a pioneer and innovator in the digital media space. Zellers is also a published writer and editor, and has an eclectic background that includes publishing, marketing, advertising, fundraising, and stock brokerage.
Christopher DonahueSenior Vice President, Marketing & Business Development, Live Gamer: Christopher Donahue is a longtime pioneer and innovator in online gaming, with a career dating to the first graphical role playing games and early online game service initiatives, which he helped deliver while at Sierra Online and the ImagiNation Network. He joins Live Gamer after six years as Group Manager of the Windows Graphics & Gaming Technologies group at Microsoft, where he led business development, marketing, and publisher integration efforts around DirectX and the Games for Windows initiative. Previous positions include leading developer relations efforts at NVIDIA Corporation and at ATI.
