Chris Boyer, Assistant Vice President Internet & Technology Policy, AT&T Services Inc.: Chris Boyer is Assistant Vice President of Internet & Technology Policy for AT&T. Boyer is a technical and policy expert responsible for developing and coordinating public policy across AT&T's emerging services and technologies with a particular focus on emerging and disruptive Internet Protocol based services. Boyer recently moved from the companys former headquarters in San Antonio to the Bay Area to work with the technology community in Silicon Valley. Prior to this role Mr. Boyer was responsible for public policy and serving as an expert on AT&Ts Lightspeed and U-verse initiatives the company's nationwide efforts to enable the delivery of advanced, Internet Protocol (IP)-based television, faster high-speed Internet access and home phone service to customers. Mr. Boyer joined AT&T in 1993 and has held various positions in AT&Ts corporate public policy, network planning and engineering, network regulatory, wholesale marketing and network services departments including extensive experience working on AT&T's broadband, VoIP and IPTV initiatives. Mr. Boyer holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas and an MBA from the University of Houston in Houston, TX. He and his wife Marnie have a son, Matthew, and a daughter, Sydney, and reside in San Ramon, CA.
Gianluca Ferremi, Principal, WaterJug: With a bachelors degree in Information Science from the University of Torino and a Masters in Information Technology and Telecommunications from the Polytechnic University of Torino, Mr. Ferremi relocated to America to work as member of the technical staff of a telecommunications start-up. He joined Sun Microsystems in the spring of 1998, and worked from their Paris office as a pre-sales Systems Engineer. Relocating to Barcelona in 1999, Mr. Ferremi covered the position of Business Development Manager for Broadband and DTV for the EMEA region until September 2005, when he became responsible for developing and managing the Video and Media markets, worldwide, for Sun. In January 2008, Mr. Ferremi created WaterJug. With nine years of experience in the digital media and video markets, four of which in a management role, Mr. Ferremi has launched a hardware product line and has been responsible for strategic sales and partners ecosystems. He was also part of a core team that conceived and developed the strategy and business model for a Web 2.0 start-up focused on digital video services targeted at Internet users. Mr. Ferremis expertise, coupled with his technology background, brings the ability to translate technological innovation into business value. He is fluent in three languages, and currently lives in Barcelona.
Mark Evensen, Co-founder and VP of Product Development, Entone: Mark Evensen is a true interactive TV (ITV) technology leader in the development of products and systems that enable full-scale deployment of video solutions worldwide. This includes pioneering efforts in multi-format set-top box and video server design and implementation that facilitate revenue-generating personal television services. Chief among these new designs is Entones Hydra residential IP video gateway, which has been widely deployed and currently represents the only multiple television gateway on the market. Evensen is extremely adept in the various technologies involved with ITV and on-demand services, as well as the trade-offs of the various component options. Evensen has been designing and deploying video solutions for nearly 15 years. He was the architect of the worlds first video over DSL deployment and knows intimately what it means to design and develop an end-to-end telco video architecture from the ground up.
Jonathan Hurd, Director, Altman Vilandrie & Company: Jonathan Hurd joined Altman Vilandrie & Company in 2006. He has more than 20 years of consulting and industry experience in communications, media and related technology sectors. Jonathans primary areas of expertise include business and marketing strategy, new business creation and launch, integrated consumer and business services, and customer and sales channel segmentation and targeting. Jonathans experience in the IPTV realm includes customer targeting, partner evaluation, demand modeling, and business case development. With unique insight into competitive trends and consumer perceptions about content and communications services, Jonathan works with clients to develop differentiated video strategies. Jonathans extensive marketing background enables him to recommend product and marketing strategies that resonate with target audiences as IP-delivered video moves towards broad adoption. Prior to joining Altman Vilandrie & Company, Jonathan was a Vice President with ADVENTIS. Before that, he was a Partner in the Communication, Information and Entertainment practice of Mercer Management Consulting. Jonathan has also served as Vice President of Marketing for a computer peripherals manufacturer, and has held marketing and strategic planning positions at Lotus Development Corporation. In addition, he has served as a software development product manager in industries including financial services, computer peripherals, video game development and management consulting. Jonathan earned a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from M.I.T., and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Sean Barger, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, Equilibrium: With over twenty years of management, engineering and production experience in the software industry, Mr. Barger is the visionary behind Equilibrium's next-generation Automated Media Processing Solutions (AMPS) including the DeBabelizer and MediaRich product lines for the desktop, workgroup and enterprise markets. As the original founder of Equilibrium (1989), Mr. Barger pioneered the product development, global distribution, and strategic partnerships for the award-winning DeBabelizer and MediaRich Dynamic Media Processing Platform. Before returning to the helm of Equilibrium, Barger established an executive consultancy where he was responsible for the turnaround of a $120M Pan-European public software distribution company and the raising of multiple rounds of financing for his clients. Prior to founding Equilibrium, Mr. Barger was an Executive Producer of more than 55 entertainment software titles.
Anthony Bontrager, President, Onecast, Inc.: A recognized veteran in telecommunications, broadcasting and interactive media, Anthony Bontrager is currently Managing Partner with Axis Partners, LLC a digital media consultancy and head of Business Development at Onecast, Inc. a stealth mode digital media company backed by wireless pioneer Craig McCaw. Prior to Axis and Onecast, Anthony was President and CEO of Broadstream Communications, Inc., a company he co-founded to create the telecommunications industrys first virtual head-end and middleware service for IPTV delivery. Under Anthonys leadership, Broadstream was the first company to secure the largest library of IP-content rights from companies such as NBC-Universal, Disney/ABC, ESPN, Starz, Discovery, Fox, Turner Networks and others. Previously, Anthony was General Manager at Fisher Pathways, Inc. (a division of Fisher Communications, Inc.), where he oversaw programming origination and satellite and fiber re-distribution of television and video content for companies such as ESPN, The Portland Trail Blazers, CNN and others. Anthonys telecom career began during the early days of PCS systems deployments and continued with Advanced Radio Telecom Corp. where, as Vice President of Real Estate, he oversaw the acquisition of over 800 million square feet of telecommunications facilities in the United States, London and Scandinavia. Anthony sits on the advisory boards of NDR Media, Inc. and SATCON; and the board of directors of Alexandria Investment Company. Anthony is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences - Interactive Media Peer Group and Film Group, and is a past member of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and World Teleport Association (WTA). Anthony is also a co-author of Washington States wireless siting policy.
