Todd Hinders, SVP Business Development and Sales, ExtendMedia: Todd Hinders brings extensive experience in digital media software, syndication, distribution services, and digital asset management to his role as SVP Business Development and Sales for ExtendMedia. Prior to ExtendMedia Hinders was Vice-President of Sales & Business Development for Maven Networks. In this role he was responsible for bringing to market their first customer deployments including National Geographic, Sony Pictures, EMI Records, Pepsi, A&E, and Atom Films. Hinders also oversaw Maven's international expansion into Japan, Korea and China opening up reseller and direct customer relationships in each geography. Previously, Todd was senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Loudeye Corporation, where he led the market introduction and rapid growth of digital media and corporate communications products and services. Todd joined Loudeye from NeTpower, Inc., a Silicon Graphics spin-off, where he was group manager for the Digital Media System Group. In this role, Todd brought to market the first line of graphics workstations, encoding systems and video servers specifically designed for media streaming applications in the broadcast, media and entertainment industries. Todd holds a BSC degree in Behavioral Psychology from the University of the Pacific.
Chris Gardner, Chief Marketing Officer, ExtendMedia: Chris Gardner is responsible for ExtendMedia's corporate marketing and product management initiatives. With 16 years in high-technology marketing and product management, his background spans a variety of technology areas including wireless, digital content, customer self-service, e-billing, document management and speech recognition. Most recently, Chris was the SVP of Products and Marketing at m-Qube, an enabler of mobile content commerce that was acquired by Verisign in 2006. He was also the Vice President of Products and Marketing at edocs, Inc., a venture-backed e-billing and customer self-service company that was subsequently acquired by Siebel Systems. Before that, Chris was the Vice President of Marketing at OmniBrowse, Inc., and led the launch of its wireless portal that provided real-time data services to wireless devices. OmniBrowse was sold to Microsoft and became part of MSN Mobile. Chris also served as Product Manager for internet technologies at PC DOCS, as a product manager at Gartner Group and as Corporate Communications Manager at Dragon Systems, a leading speech recognition technology provider. Chris received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Justin Chapweske, CEO, Swarmcast: In his current role, Justin oversees the day-to-day operations of the company, including strategy, implementation and U.S. operations. He is also actively involved in development planning and ensuring that the Swarmcast software and technology platform continues to define the leading edge of Internet content delivery. Justin is the original inventor or multi-source streaming and swarming data transfer which breaks large files into small pieces to quickly exchange them over the Internet. He started programming at age 6 and was working at university level computer science programs by the time he was 15. Justin attended the University of Minnesota where he studied Computer Science and Math and went on to quickly distinguish himself as a software engineer, becoming the principal software architect for a rising Internet OS company before his 21st birthday. Soon thereafter, Justin founded his own company to develop and market his swarming technology.
John Bishop, Co-founder and Senior VP of Business Development and Strategy, Inlet Technologies: John is a recognized digital video expert. He has been featured as a speaker and expert panelist at numerous worldwide events including DV Expo, Digital Hollywood, National Association of Broadcasters annual conference (NAB), Parks Associates, VON, Streaming Media East/West/Europe and RealNetworks Conferences. John has authored white papers, web content, press releases and industry presentations on diverse topics, including video and new media technology, business and technology ecosystems and people. Prior to joining Inlet, John served as the Director of Business Development and Product Management for Osprey Technologies (acquired by ViewCast Corporation). There, he identified and developed key market opportunities resulting in multiple consecutive revenue growth quarters, despite global economic downturn. His other accomplishments at Osprey included developing and managing strategic business relationships with Microsoft, RealNetworks and HP and successfully launching e-commerce initiatives that netted an overall increase of 800% in direct sales. Prior to Osprey, John spent three years at IBM where he served as a product engineer with IBM's Aptiva PC Division. He currently serves on the board of directors at Accordent Technologies, based in Hermosa Beach California. John holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University.
Scott Ryan, CEO, Asankya: Scott Ryan, CEO of Asankya. Scott has more than 15 years experience in the networking and Internet industries, during which he has led organizations in networking and communications companies including Nortel Networks and DSC Communications, as well as startup ventures Incanta and Elastic Networks. Prior to Asankya, Scott was at The North Highland Company, a management and technology consulting company, where he led the Infrastructure and Security practice and was the national Communications Industry Lead. Scott was co-founder and CEO of Incanta, a pioneer in personalized streaming radio, and broadband application provider to telecommunications and cable companies.
Gary Sasaki, President, DIGDIA: Gary has been involved in the digital consumer electronics industry, plus various parts of its value chain for over thirteen years. Areas have included digital imaging/video, digital media, digital displays, digital cinema, digital cable, home integration, audio/video networking, telematics, and handheld products. Gary formed DIGDIA in 2004, and is focused on helping companies find and analyze growth opportunities in markets empowered by digital media. Customers include Samsung, Panasonic, Philips, Siemens, Intel, HP, Canon, Pioneer, Bosch, Bain & Co. and other companies. Gary has spoken at Digital Hollywood, CABA, CableNEXT, Home Entertainment Show, Strategy Institute, Pepperdine University, Santa Clara University, IBDNetwork, SDForum and other events. Prior to forming DIGDIA, Gary had 30 years experience with Hewlett Packard, including 10 years in HP Labs as a Strategic Business Development manager responsible for finding and helping to initiate new billion dollar businesses in the digital consumer electronics value chain space. HP Labs offered a rich mix of cutting edge technology and a central point to work with any HP business division or outside company. Before HP Labs, Gary was an HP division R&D Manager leading over 100 professionals working on three separate product lines, each #1 in their market worldwide. Other positions include Product Marketing and Project Management. He received his BSEE/CS from the University of California, Berkeley; attended the Brookings Institution, and had other coursework in Stanford and HP. Gary is the current chairman of the IEEE Consumer Electronics Society Santa Clara Valley chapter, and member of SCTE, SMPTE, CABA, Digital Cinema Society and a CEDIA instructor.
