Personalized TV: Exploring the True Power of IPTV The integration of the TV experience with the full power of the new consumer technologies from broadband to mobile opens to door to not only an unique world of entertainment and information, it brings to the table a next generation idea of full consumer interactivity within the TV experience. Personalized TV will forever change the consumer entertainment landscape it will open the door to a consumer with more and greater control over his or her environment in touch with family members, enjoying HD programming, accessing and saving information and ultimately creating it and sharing it with others. Nash Parker, Director, North American Strategy, Alcatel-Lucent: Nash Parker brings more than 20 years of telecommunications experience to his position as Director of the North American Strategy Team for Alcatel-Lucent. In this role, Mr. Parker is the lead strategist and primary liaison within for regions content, advertising, and gaming industry activity. Previously, Mr. Parker served as Director of Strategic Alliances for Alcatel-Lucent, where he lead the companys North American Strategic Solutions Group in support of the groups IPTV and Mobile TV initiatives. Prior to joining Alcatel-Lucent, Mr. Parker served as Manager of Business Development for Sony Computer Entertainment America, and as Regional Manager for the General Motors Corporation. Nash Parker holds a bachelor of arts degree from Kalamazoo College, and a master in business administration degree from Wayne State University. Speaking engagements include CTIA, IEEEs International Symposium on Broadband Multimedia Systems and Broadcasting, Digital Hollywood Spring (June 2007), Digital Hollywood at NXTcomm (June 2007), and Consumer Electronics Show (CES) (January 2008); Digital Hollywood at CES (January 2008).
Andy Addis, Executive Vice President, Marketing, Hillcrest Labs: Andy Addis is responsible for marketing, product development and business development for Hillcrest Labs and its groundbreaking technology that re-invents how content is presented and navigated on the television and across a host of consumer electronic products. Andy brings to Hillcrest more than 20 years of marketing and product management experience, much of it focused on the launch of innovative new products. Prior to Hillcrest, Andy was a senior vice president at Comcast, responsible for marketing and new products. While there he played a lead role in new product strategy as well as development, deployment and marketing for Comcasts most innovative video products, including video-on-demand (VOD), high definition television (HDTV), and digital video recorders (DVRs). He was also involved with Comcasts user interface strategy and requirements definition. He has also managed established businesses and launched new products at Kraft Foods and AT&T. He has been recognized numerous times in his career for leadership and innovation, including CableFaxs 100 Most Influential People (2004), Cable and Telecommunications Marketing Associations TAMI Award (2003), and Advertising Ages Top 100 Marketers (1991). Andy earned a Bachelors in Economics from Lafayette College and an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolinas Kenan-Flagler Business School.
Gianluca Ferremi, Principal, WaterJug: With a bachelors degree in Information Science from the University of Torino, and a Masters in Information Technology and Telecommunications from the Polytechnic University of Torino, Mr. Ferremi relocated to America to work as member of the technical staff of a telecommunications start-up. He joined Sun Microsystems in the spring of 1998, and worked from their Paris office as a pre-sales Systems Engineer. Relocating to Barcelona in 1999, Mr. Ferremi covered the position of Business Development Manager for Broadband and DTV for the EMEA region, until September 2005 when he became responsible for developing and managing the Video and Media markets, worldwide, for Sun. In January 2008, Mr. Ferremi became Chief Executive Officer for WaterJug, a marketing consulting firm specialized in Internet and Web 2.0 digital video and media.
Thierry Fautier, Director of Telco Solutions, Harmonic Inc.: Thierry Fautier is Director of Telco Solutions at Harmonic Inc., responsible for IPTV market development. Before joining Harmonic, he was Vice President of Marketing for Vsofts and held various positions at Philips. Mr. Fautier was one of the primary drivers at Philips in the creation of MPEG technology and in the development of MPEG-2 STB system on a chip solutions. An experienced speaker, he has presented at several industry conferences throughout the world.
Mike Savello, Vice President, Global Software Solutions, On2: Mike is responsible for managing On2's PC and Flash-related video compression and publishing businesses including working with some of the biggest names in online video content. Prior to joining On2, Mike held executive positions with Media 100, a leading supplier of video editing gear to the broadcast and post-production markets and a key player in IP video in the early part of this decade. Mike has over 15 years of experience in the digital media space.
Toby Morning, Senior Project Manager, Blue Monitor Systems: TOBY URBANTECH MORNING is a serial entrepreneur, who founded Urban Technology Ventures in 2001 in Hollywood, California, U.S.A. Toby was previously VP of Business development for Destiny Media Technologies, and worked on the MPE DRM System, and Radio Destiny projects while at Destiny. Toby is the founder of the DJ Union, IP Network Systems, WIFI Phone Network, Blue Monitor, Hip Mode, and in investor in several other technology companys like <http://www.davenw.com/>DAVE Networks. Tobys focus is now on developing cutting edge internet services specifically for Africa, and the emerging markets.
