Ric Brovedani, Senior Director, Strategic Solutions, Services Business Group, Alcatel-Lucent: As Senior Director of Strategic Solutions in the office of the CTO for Alcatel-Lucent’s Services Business Group, Ric Brovedani is responsible for identifying future business and technology trends, tying them to customer strategies, and developing applicable solutions. Mr. Brovenani came to Alcatel-Lucent through the acquisition of iMagicTV, where he served as Director of Sales for the Americas. In this role, he managed the implementation and launch of some of the first successful IP video deployments in North America, as well as opening up new markets in South America. Previously, Mr. Brovenani worked in a senior sales role at MT&T, now Aliant, where he was instrumental in driving the companies’ transformation from a monopoly to a fully competitive organization. He began his career at Alcan Aluminum, where he held various sales and marketing positions. Ric Brovedani holds a bachelor of science degree in engineering from the University of Alberta. Previous speaking engagements include the TelcoTV Conference and Expo, and Digital Hollywood’s Media Summit New York.

Andreas Bauer, Industry Frameworks Leader, Communications, Media & Entertainment, EDS: Andreas G. Bauer is the global leader of Communications, Media & Entertainment Industry Frameworks in EDS Portfolio Development. In his role, he has global responsibility for the development of thought leadership, frameworks and solutions specific to the telecommunications industry. Bauer’s career spans over 18 years of experience in business consulting and technology enablement and includes distinguished careers with IBM Global Services, Deloitte Consulting and Dr. Göhring & Partner Management Consultants, a spin-off of James Martin Associates. He has supported national and international engagements and sales pursuits with major communications services providers and has worked in several countries. His areas of specialization include marketing and IT strategies, process design and re-engineering, IT planning and management of system implementation projects. Bauer has a masters in computer science and a master's of business administration degree.. He is fluent in German, English and Spanish and enjoys music and fine wine tasting. He and his wife, Ana, live with their daughter, Claudia, in Madrid, Spain.


John Reister, Chief IPTV Architect, BigBand Networks: John Reister has over 14 years of experience in broadband and telecommunications, serving as chief architect for IPTV of BigBand Networks, responsible for the strategic and technical direction of the company’s IPTV offerings. Prior to joining BigBand Networks, Mr. Reister was chief technology officer with leading DSL access platform vendor Copper Mountain Networks, where he was responsible for the technical vision and strategic direction. While there he drove technical product requirements from inception, developed a video distribution strategy, led regulatory strategy including serving on an FCC panel, and developed patent-pending technologies. Mr. Reister has also held positions at Bain & Company with a focus on telecommunications, and Sun Microsystems, Sunsoft division. Mr. Reister holds a bachelors of science degree from Pennsylvania State University, a masters of science in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Princeton University, and a masters of business administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.




Guy Cherry, Principal Architect, Video Systems, C-COR: Guy Cherry obtained his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Delaware. His early work focused on a number of object-oriented programming languages such as Smalltalk and various flavors of lisp. This led to work on C++, specifically in the area of embedded systems. In 1990 he began working with digital video in the Computer Research Labs at Tektronix Incorporated and developed some of the first video networking and storage systems using ATM and motion-JPEG. He served on the ISO MPEG Committee from 1993 to 1996 and currently contributes to the SCTE DVS committees. Dr. Cherry joined C-COR in 2000 and is currently a C-COR Principal Architect for Video Systems.






Stephen Mannel, Offerings Executive, Cable and Broadband Solutions, IBM Corporation: Stephen Mannel is responsible for creating the IBM “Point of View” for the distribution segment of the cable business. This work helps determine the trends and the accompanying needs of the operators over the next two to three years. IBM will invest their time, energy and resources on the areas of greatest impact for our clients based on that analysis and the relationships with our clients. Mannel also manages the business development and executive relationships between IBM and its two largest cable accounts, Comcast and Time Warner Cable. Prior to joining IBM, he held a variety of senior business development and account manager positions at Netscape Communications (a division of America Online), Sun Microsystems, and Platinum Technology. He has 10 years of business development and sales experience in the network service provider industry. Mannel’s focus has been in the areas of creating new value added services with an emphasis on communications and collaboration solutions for residential and commercial markets, digital media distribution, e-commerce, and portal and personalization technologies. Mannel earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ. Mannel represents IBM for various industry analysts and media publications on the topics related to the cable industry.

Rob Uhrich
is Senior Director, Digital Markets for PaymentOne, the leading payment provider for alternative and global online payments. Rob has over a decade of business, market development and operations experience in payments and transaction processing for online based and digital content service providers. He has been with PaymentOne since it's inception over 8 years ago and been instrumental in assisting PaymentOne's clients in generating over $3 Billion in gross retail billings. Rob brings PaymentOne expertise in the digital entertainment and content markets. Prior to PaymentOne, he has held sales and business development positions in a variety of industries from shipping and logistics to medical devices. Rob has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Santa Clara University.

Steve Borelli, Vice President, Marketing and Business Development, Integra5: Steve Borelli has more than 15 years of marketing, product management and business development experience in the telecommunications, cable broadband and enterprise software and systems industries. Before joining Integra5, Steve served as vice president of Broadband Markets for Comverse. In this role, he led global marketing and business development for the cable, satellite and IPTV markets. Prior to Comverse, Steve spent six years with CSG Systems, most recently as vice president of Business Development where he played a key role in directing companywide initiatives to support the cable broadband industry and develop growth initiatives for CSG. Steve spent seven years with U S WEST (now Qwest Communications) where he served as director of Video and Online Services for their Broadband Services division and was responsible for product management of the VDSL and cable delivered services. Steve was also involved with early deployments of video on demand, online content and other interactive TV services. Earlier in his career, Steve was part of the cable industry’s first cable modem deployments as the director of Marketing at Jones Internet Channel. In this role he was responsible for overall marketing strategy and execution for cable modem Internet access and Web-based community content. Steve holds a BA in Communications from the University of Colorado in Boulder.

Michelle A. Nowak, Vice President - Product Management, Broadband Communications & Media Division, Amdocs: Backed by a global team of product management professionals, Michelle is responsible for leading the strategic direction, business functional contents, and requirements for Amdocs convergence solutions for cable and satellite. Michelle has broad product and program management experience in the broadband, cable, satellite and telecommunications industries. She joined Amdocs with the DST Innovis acquisition, which was completed in July 2005. Prior to joining DST Innovis in 2002, Michelle co-founded Info Directions Inc., an enterprise billing and customer care software development organization for the converged communications marketplace. She is recognized as an industry and product evangelist, and is a sought-after thought-leader for speaking engagements and trade publications. Michelle attended the State University College at Buffalo, majoring in business administration, and the Bryant and Stratton Business Institute, majoring in computer programming. She is a member of the Product Management Association, Project Management Institute, Women in Cable and Telecommunications, and Cable and Telecommunications Marketing Association. She is based in Charlotte, N.C.

Mary Francia, Executive Consultant, Philips Electronics Content Identification, The Netherlands: “A global telecommunications executive, Mary Francia is an Executive Consultant for Philips Corporate Technologies, Innovation and Emerging Business and Managing Director Technology at FRANCIA Inc, a Consulting firm for Marketing & Technology in Consumer Lifestyle, supporting clients build marketing and product strategy and go to market creating sales channels for next generation services and devices. Ms. Francia last assignment was Vice President Sales & Marketing Home Networks at Royal Philips Electronics where she joined in 2003 and is now retained as an Executive Consultant. As part of Connected Planet at Philips Consumer Electronics, she managed telecom strategic alliances in Europe and with her direction, Philips launched devices in access (DSL), communications (VoIP), and entertainment (Music & IPTV) over broadband networks as well as initiatives in consumer healthcare with Telecom Operators.
Ms. Francia has held executive roles in Healthcare, Cable TV, Wireless and OEM and has a strong consulting background in Telecom. Ms. Francia has an MBA in International Business and is fluent in several languages.”
