Embracing the Connected Consumer - Entertainment and Technology - From the Digital Home to the Mobile Universe
The consumer lives in three digital environments, the home, work and mobile experiencing what we might call the always connected, digital lifestyle. In this session, we will address how the technology, the content providers and developers have adapted themselves to the evolving needs of the digital lifestyle, serving a home-based media, a worked based media and mobile media. Whether its a wirelessly connected home with set-tops, PCs, HDTVs and phone devices; a broadband mobile device, a fully loaded media friendly car, a broadband workspace or public space, the consumer is connected all the time, sending or receiving information and content. In this session, we will explore what it means to create and enable that fully connected universe.

Claudia Ceniceros, Senior Director, Digital Media Partnerships, Cisco Media Solutions Group: Claudia Ceniceros directs Ciscos media entertainment initiatives and cross-divisional efforts in digital media strategy and business development. Claudia identifies investment opportunities in leading-edge companies in networked entertainment and is charged with communicating the companys digital media vision and strategy to partners. Before assuming her current duties, Claudia ran corporate public relations at Cisco. Prior to joining Cisco, Claudia was vice president of corporate communications for Acclaim Entertainment, a developer and publisher of software for a variety of gaming platforms. She also held executive positions at ABC Television Network and Robinson Lerer & Montgomery/Sawyer Miller Group. At ABC, she launched network initiatives such as the World Cup HDTV programming and "Disney's One Saturday Morning." At Robinson Lerer & Montgomery, she managed entertainment accounts that included Time Warner, Six Flags, Nickelodeon, MTV Europe, Philips Media and The Special Olympic Games. Claudia graduated from the University of Illinois, Chicago, with a B.A. in philosophy and political science. Memberships: PR Seminar 2004, Arthur W. Page Society 2004, and Global Communication Forum 2003-2004.
Peter Percosan, Executive Director of Broadband Strategy for TIs Residential Gateway Business, Texas Instruments: Percosan has served as the director broadband strategy for Texas Instruments Residential Gateway business since the acquisition of Libit Signal Processing in 1999. In this role he provides strategic direction that aligns Texas Instruments technology strengths with the needs of the cable industry. He is also responsible for identifying market trends and providing the vision to the RGES group. Prior to this position, Percosan was the vice president of strategy and business development at Libit Signal Processing. Percosan also served as vice president of strategic marketing, at Lysis SA and vice president of engineering at Ariel Corporation. Percosan has presented on the cable broadband topic at numerous technical seminars. He earned his bachelors degree in computer science from the University of California at San Diego.
Sean Bunner, Operating Vice President, Advanced Services, HSN: Sean Bunner serves as the Operating Vice President of Advanced Services for HSN. In this role he is responsible for the business development, operations and marketing of HSNs Interactive Media applications including: Shop by Remote (iTV), Video on Demand, Broadband and Mobile services. HSNs award winning Shop by Remote application is available in more than 15 million US households and is one of the only one-screen iTV applications in the US that runs 24X7. HSN has taken a lead in interactive retail offering mobile alerts, podcasting and now is one of the largest contributors of video to the internet with close to 7,000 product presentation videos available on aggregation sites like YouTube. Bunner actively supports key industry initiatives including the CableLabs eTV Working Group, CTAM onDemand Consortium - Advanced Technology Sub-committee, and Academy of Television Arts & Sciences 2007 Interactive Television Emmy Blue Ribbon Panel. Before joining HSN, Mr. Bunner worked in investment banking for 5 years at Tunstall Consulting where he was the lead Director for technology company financings and strategic plans, including many telecommunications and cable related technology providers. Prior to this, he worked at Honeywell for 7 years in various Corporate Finance roles. Bunner is a CPA and graduate of the University of South Florida where he received a Masters in Business Administration and B.S. Accounting. He resides in Florida with his wife Ellen and their three children.
Bill Zhou, Senior Manager, Product Management, Digital Video Solutions, Home and Networks Mobility, Motorola, Inc.: Bill Zhou is Senior Manager, Product Management within the Digital Video Solutions group in Motorolas Home and Networks Mobility division. In this role, Bill brings expertise in product management in the area of digital video entertainment and communication devices. Mr. Zhou has been with Motorola for 10 years. Prior to joining the U.S. product management team, he served as Senior Sales/Marketing Manager for Motorola in China. His product management responsibilities within Motorola include managing broadband communication devices such as cable modems, eMTAs, DSL gateways and digital set top boxes. Bill attended Temple University where he obtained a Masters degree in Business Administration. Prior to that, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts at Foreign Affairs University in Beijing, China.
Gigi Johnson, Senior Vice President, Strategic Partnerships, Studio 4 Networks: Gigi L. Johnson joined the executive team at Studio 4 Networks as Senior Vice President, Strategic Partnerships in Sept. 2007. She is responsible for business development and partnerships in marketing, distribution, and creative content. Studio 4 Networks (www.studio4networks.com) provides trusted, high quality educational, childhood developmental, parenting, and fitness programming for the entire family on three on-demand networks on VOD and broadband platforms in the U.S. and Canada. Ms. Johnson most recently was president of Maremel Media, a producer/distributor of learning and entertainment content for kids and tweens, as well as well as a consulting firm in corporate development and strategy for digital media companies. Previously, Ms. Johnson had been in leadership roles at the UCLA Anderson School of Management since 1999. Most recently, she was Executive Director of its Entertainment and Media Management Institute. She continues as a Lecturer in media strategy at UCLA Anderson, faculty director of its Global Entertainment Executive Program, and director of its Certificate Program in Entertainment/Media Management. Ms. Johnson had been Managing Director at Bank of America, where she spent most of a decade in its Entertainment/Media Corporate Banking practice in Los Angeles and New York. Previously, she worked for leading advertising and public relations firms in media, as well as in television finance. Ms. Johnson continues on the advisory board of the Interactive TV Alliance and on the boards of several digital media start-up firms. Ms. Johnson received her MBA from UCLA Anderson School and her BA in Cinema-Television Production from the University of Southern California.
Mark Mangiola, Managing Director, Canaan Venture Capital: Mark Mangiola joined C anaan in 2001 after over 20 years in operational leadership roles in the cable and broadband industry. Mark invests in communications companies that are transforming the delivery of digital media, as well as new consumer content companies that meld entertainment with interactivity. Mark has a visionary outlook about how consumers will watch and interact with content in the future, having participated first hand in the early emergence of both cable TV and the Internet. He also supports key clean tech opportunities. Mark actively participated in Canaans investment in Ellacoya, a rapidly-growing broadband service optimization company, and Zolo Technologies, a clean tech pioneer that is dramatically reducing emissions from power plants. A super-connected industry veteran, Mark leverages his network to fill key executive positions at Canaans portfolio firms and helps them spearhead strategic relationships with industry-leading corporations. Prior to Canaan, Mark served as CEO of @Home Solutions, a division of Excite@Home. He was previously the President and CEO of Positive Communications and an Executive VP at KBLCOM/Time Warner. When Mark is not thinking about how consumer-generated video will change the world, he is sprinting around a track. A passionate athlete, Mark coaches high-school and college track athletes and never misses a Meet of Champions track meet.
