Advertising is finally discovering and finding its way into the next generation of technology media and entertainment industries. Broadband, IPTV, Cable and interactive TV, mobile and of course in games, ads and branded information are delivered in many forms. The technologies behind ad-insertion, ad serving, on-demand technologies and a full host of back-end management technologies are enabling greater creativity and enhanced options in the relationship between technology and advertising. In this session, we will open an ongoing conversation of how technologies are evolving, where they are heading and how the advertising and branding industries will gain further technology traction.

Justin Townsend, CEO and Co-founder of IGA Worldwide is one of the figureheads i n the in-game advertising industry. A pioneer of digital advertising with over 15 years of relevant experience, Townsend has worked in a number of senior roles at a variety of global media organizations. In 2004, Townsend founded IGA Worldwide, the global leader in 360 degree in-game advertising solutions. Having established a proprietary ad serving network, Radial, Townsend has led Series B VC round, securing $25 million funding in 2007 and Series A VC round which secured $17 million funding in 2006 and also saw IGA Worldwide recognized separately as the Breakout Company of the Year 2006 and as a Top 100 Private Company in the media and entertainment sector for two consecutive years. Townsend recently led the Before founding IGA, Townsend was responsible for developing the digital element of global advertising conglomerate McCann-Erickson from their Berlin office. Initially director of consulting for digital media at Zentropy Partners, (McCann Erickson World Group), Townsend was swiftly promoted to Head of Online at McCann-Erickson Berlin.
Pallavi Shah, Digital Media Strategist, Hewlett-Packard: Pallavi Shah is industry r ecognized thought leader, spokesperson and champion in digital media and rights management. She has directed global teams through multi-company alliances to bring several digital media products to market. At HP, she is responsible for Digital Media Intellectual Property strategy and alliances for their Imaging and Printing business. Prior to HP, Pallavi was Sr. Market Development Manager for Sun Microsystems and was responsible for revenue generation through partnerships in digital media. She also chaired many standards bodies including ISO's MPEG4-Java. Prior to Sun, Ms Shah was with the Sarnoff Corporation (RCA research lab), where she pioneered the world's first E-Commerce application of interactive HDTV. She has served as a speaker at over 50 industry conferences and published several papers. She holds multiple patents in the architecture of interactive digital video.
Jack Perry, Chief Titan, Founder, President and CEO, TitanTV Media: Jack Perry is a software industry pioneer respected across fields for his leadership and vision. From his earliest entrepreneurial venture creating statistical software for Olympic athletes training in the 1990s, to launching solutions related to digital television and the delivery of network programming over the Internet, Mr. Perry has demonstrated an unsurpassed ability to foresee and pursue leading-edge business opportunities. In his most recent position as Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of TitanTV Media Mr. Perry has served as chief architect of the companys key intellectual property. He has lead development of several patented technologies (seven awarded to date) including Geneva, the application that serves as the foundation for resolving Federal copyright issues between rights holders and content delivery platforms, including the Internet. Mr. Perry testified before Congress prior to adoption of the Satellite Home Viewer Act in 1999, and its 2004 extension, SHVERA, and has been called upon most recently to address issues related to the digital transition and delivery of content via the web. Mr. Perry also created TitanTV.com, the first electronic program guide to be DVR-enabled for use on the web. The backbone of TitanTV.com is MediaStar which is used by over 1,000 local television stations for injecting real-time changes into program listings. TitanCast is Mr. Perrys most recent patented technology. This historic application makes it possible to stream over-the-air signals via the web within the parameters of the established network affiliate structure. It is the only technology of its kind to authenticate and control streaming of local TV. As Chief Titan, Mr. Perry is a regular presenter at broadcast and technology conferences around the world, including the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), NABs Futures Summit, Streaming Media East and West, Kagan's Digital Household Summit, CES and Digital Hollywood. Mr. Perry has also been elected to the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, was named a member of the Consumer Electronics Association's Academy of Digital Television Pioneers and was voted one of the most influential people under 40 by Dealerscope Magazine, a leading consumer electronics industry publication. In addition, Mr. Perry has been a Keynote Speaker at the DTV Symposium and worked with former FCC Chairman, Michael Powell, to launch the formation of a Digital Television Consumer Education Plan. Prior to joining Decisionmark, Mr. Perry worked with high-growth, technology-based companies such as Powercore, CE Software, and Interactive Resources. He also co-authored, Groupware Technology and Applications, a respected book among early dotcom pioneers and in 1989 created RunningCounts, a statistical software package used by athletes in preparation for the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games. A resident of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mr. Perry earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from the University of Iowa. In his spare time Mr. Perry has completed sixteen marathons, numerous triathlons and still laces up his skates to play competitive hockey.
Ravi Medikonda is the Director of Service Provider Marketing at Juniper Networks , responsible for Wireline segment. Prior to that, Mr. Medikonda was the Director of Product Marketing at Ericsson responsible for product and market strategy of their IP edge routing products. Before that, he was the Director of Marketing at Tellabs and was responsible for product management, planning, and market strategy for Tellabs IP/MPLS product line. Mr. Medikonda has 14 years of experience in the Telecommunications and Data-networking industry and has product management and network engineering roles at Calix & Sprint.
Jeff Hasen is Chief Marketing Officer of mobile marketing pioneer HipCricket whe re he is responsible for marketing, advertising and public relations. He previously drove a repositioning of InfoSpace from 1-percent share player in online search to a leadership position in mobile media and to No. 20 on the prestigious Wired 40 list of most innovative companies on Earth. Earlier, Hasen led results-driven programs for the worlds largest food company, the globes unifying sports showcase and the worldwide leader in Internet security technology. For Nestlé, he directed product launches and reinvigorations. For the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the Olympic Winter Games of 2002, his work as project director for the look and feel program raised community awareness and involvement and introduced the Games theme, logo and mascots. For Symantec, he helped consumers and businesses through debilitating computer virus outbreaks. At InfoSpace, he headed global strategic communications efforts. His strategy and differentiating messaging introducing the first comprehensive GPS-enabled mobile local search product resulted in coverage in USA Today, the New York Times, CNBC and well over 100 additional outlets, including every PBS station in the country. He is a frequent speaker and author on the importance of integrity in business and what he calls the Moments of Trust that make or break brands and dramatically impact loyalty and sales.
Keith Kocho, Founder, ExtendMedia Corporation: Keith Kocho founded ExtendMed ia (then Digital Renaissance) in 1991. Under his leadership, the company has been recognized for numerous awards including The OnHollywood 100, The Fast 50, Canadas Fastest Growing Companies, Profit 100, and others, and he has personally received such awards as the BDC's Young Entrepreneur of the Year. He has been an advisor to Apple Computer, consultant to leading telecommunications and technology companies such as Intel, IBM and Microsoft, and has served on the advisory boards of several Colleges and Universities. His industry roles have included board participation on ITAC, CANARIE and the Canadian Film Centre. Prior to starting the company, Keith co-developed the first PC-based offline video editing system, EnSuite, in 1990. He is a graduate of Ryerson University with a degree in Radio and Television Arts.
