Jared Hoffman, Partner, Generate: Jared Hoffman is a former literary agent at CAA with an impressive track record for identifying family and comedic writers and directors, as well as incubating and implementing integrated brand strategies for major corporations and leveraging entertainment to reach audiences. Hoffman recently joined Generate as a partner where he oversees Generate Management with Dave Rath and Kara Welker and is charged with building the divisions literary and corporate client base. In addition, Hoffman works closely with Jordan Levin and Pete Aronson to produce television series, feature films and digital programming.
Michael Kernan, Vice President, ICM: Based in the Los Angeles office of ICM, Mich ael leads and coordinates the company's digital and new media assets, including working with ICM's London and New York offices. With its recent acquisition of The Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann Agency, ICM is the premier agency for creators of television and new media programming. Michael joined ICM in 2000, and has packaged numerous new media projects. He has been a leader in Internet deal making, in addition to developing content for the new media platform. Michael is a strategic advisor for technology and new media company clients on growth and financing. Prior to ICM, Michael practiced entertainment law at Lavely & Singer and Behr Abramson & Kaller, and consulted on patents and patent related issues at Gauntlet and Associates. Michael completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Illinois, and attended The University of California, Hastings College of Law, where he served as the Executive Associate Editor of "The Hastings Entertainment Law Review."
Jonathan Karron is vice president of digital marketing for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). In this role, he is responsible for driving consumer traffic, monitoring/mining for unique users, promoting video views and developing content and distribution partnerships for all of the networks digital properties, including TBSs veryfunnyads.com. Karron is based in Atlanta and reports Molly Battin, senior vice president of brand development and digital platforms for TBS, TNT and TCM. Karron joined the company in June 2004, most recently serving as director of marketing for TCM. In this capacity, he supervised all aspects of advertising, branding and development of collateral materials for the popular classic movie network. Prior to coming to TCM, he served as vice president/field marketing director for Bates USA Advertising, managing their field marketing and media operations for the Hyundai Motor America and Dealer Associations, Wendys International and CVS Pharmacy. From July 1997 until April 2000, he was vice president and field marketing director for Leo Burnett/Starcom Media Services, developing and executing local marketing programs, media planning and buying for Miller Brewing Companys co-op advertising efforts. He joined that company after two years as an account supervisor at Bozell Advertising in Atlanta, five years as senior account executive at Bates USA Advertising. Karron has an MBA from Georgia State University, with a concentration in marketing. He also has a bachelors degree in journalism, with an advertising concentration, from the University of Maryland.
Will Flannery, Vice President, Advanced Services, Fox Cable Networks: Will Flannery serves as Vice President, Advanced Services for Fox Cable Networks. He is responsible for the day-to-day distribution activities for advanced television services including high-definition, interactivity and video-on-demand involving Fox Cable Networks services. Flannery also works closely with sister units such as Fox Networks Engineering & Operations, Fox Digital Entertainment, Fox Interactive Media and Fox Mobile Entertainment on new product offerings, copyright protection, inventory sales and technical solutions. Flannery joined Fox Cable Networks (FCN) as Director of Affiliate Management in August 2000 and later served as Director, Business Development for DIRECTV, where he helped establish the satellite distributors broadband video-on-demand efforts, worked with major telephony companies on joint projects and worked with Microsoft and Intel on extending the DIRECTV service to personal computers and mobile devices. Before coming to Fox, Flannery was Manager of Corporate Development for Sony Pictures Entertainment and served as Senior Accountant at Beacon Communications. Flannery graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in applied economics/business management, and later earned his Masters in Business Administration from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Mark Kapczynski has a successful track record as a serial entreprene ur, chief executive and media industry expert. His current venture, Kontrol Media Corp., is an idea incubator for startups and senior professionals in the media and technology markets including Web 2.0, mobile, and television. Prior to that, he was founder and CEO of MESoft, a media and entertainment software company, for which Kapczynski raised two rounds of seed and venture capital funding exceeding $8MM. Under his leadership, the company also grew its distribution to a global level and partnered with leading IT companies, such as IBM, Sun and AMD, and media companies that include Avid, Ascent Media and Sony. Additionally, he received a patent for a digital media workflow process. From 1995 to 2002, Kapczynski worked at Microsoft Corporation as their Director of Worldwide Media & Entertainment Solutions Group. During that time, he worked with numerous digital media and internet start-ups such as Homestore (now Move.com), Movielink, and MeTV. Mark Kapczynski got his first taste at being an entrepreneur in 1993 when he founded Digital Genesis-a pioneer in the internet/e-commerce space-which was sold to publicly-traded Netgateway, Inc. (NGWY, now IIG) three years later. Mr. Kapczynski graduated from UCLA film school and continues to be active in multiple industry associations that span media, mobile telecom, technology, and Internet Web 2.0. In his free time, Mr. Kapczynski enjoys car racing and playing the drums.
James Segil, co-founder & President, EdgeCast Networks: James is a proven web entrepreneur, having led and sold two successful startups. Prior to co-founding EdgeCast, James was vice president of business development for Talisma Corporation, an enterprise software vendor focusing on CRM software. James joined Talisma as a result of the acquisition of his company, KnowledgeBase, where he was president & COO. At KnowledgeBase, he worked with co-founders Alex, Phil and Lior, and was involved in all aspects of the company and responsible for its growth and development. With more than six years of leadership experience in the technology sector, James has started and grown businesses, built out scalable product and technology solutions, and created and managed high performance management teams. Prior to KnowledgeBase, James successfully led Web-hosting company Virtualis Systems through start-up, growth, acquisition, and a merger/integration. He was then COO of the web hosting division of Allegiance Telecom (Nasdaq: ALGX), the communications concern that acquired Virtualis in Fall 2000. While at Allegiance, James managed the integration of Virtualis as well as other ISP acquisitions into one centralized hosting network eventually re-branded as Hosting.com. James has a deep consumer marketing background having spent his early career (seven years) in brand management at Mattel before being sent by Mattel to business school full time as their first ever sponsored MBA. Prior to leaving Mattel, James was brand manager for Hot Wheels and responsible for more than $150 million in sales. James received his MBA from Harvard Business School and received his operations, marketing, finance and leadership skills from his front line positions growing brands and businesses. James lives in Los Angeles.
Chris Monteleone, Vice President Marketing & Distribution MSGi: Chris Monteleo ne is currently Vice President of Marketing and Distribution for MSG Interactive a division of Madison Square Garden, Inc. In his current role, Chris is responsible for audience aggregation and revenue growth of all MSG online, VOD and wireless properties as well as all interactive ad sales operations. The MSGi network of websites includes: MSG.com, theGarden.com, Radiocity.com, NYRangers.com, Knicks.com, WAMUatthegarden.com and BeaconTheatrenyc.com, among other microsites. His daily tasks cover an array of issues and opportunities facing the Digital Media marketplace including entertainment and sports copyrights, ad sales and ad operations, partnership development, technology integration, research and direct oversight of revenue forecasting. Prior to MSGi Chris was Director of Digital Development for Rainbow Media, a subsidiary of Cablevision Systems Corporation (NYSE:CVC) located in Manhattan. In that role he was charged with developing business opportunities and partnerships with interactive media companies in the mobile, internet and emerging platform sectors of the business. Rainbow Media consists of 19 nationally distributed networks (AMC, IFC, WE, VOOM), which comprise over 250MM homes in aggregate. Over his career, Chris has held positions at Cablevision, E! Entertainment Networks, The Game Show Network and Rainbow Media. He has also consulted VC and PE firms, as well as start-ups on numerous digital businesses. Chris is a graduate of Fairfield University in Connecticut and resides with his family in Huntington, NY.

Richard Hull has led the charge as one of the first mainstream film and television producers/executives to embrace and create high quality digital content for majo r Hollywood studios and media companies, including Warner Bros., MTV Networks and the Walt Disney Company. Hull has successfully conceived and produced multiple studio and independent films, television series and documentaries primarily geared toward youth and young adult audiences. With his deep roots in both the traditional film/television world and the digital arena, Hull has effectively managed the collision of Hollywood and Silicon Valley. Hull is currently the Chief Content Officer of the youth entertainment startup Blowtorch, where he oversees all forms of content and content-related deals on all platforms. Blowtorch, which specializes in the production and distribution of feature films and short form digital content for teen and young adult audiences, is backed by Ignition Partners, a venture capital firm of early Microsoft employees with over $1 billion under management. Most recently based at Warner Bros. and charged with creating and implementing Warner Bros. Onlines first live-action digital content strategy, Hull launched the studios first slate of live-action digital content for online and wireless audiences. He created and/or oversaw digital content projects such as Warner Bros. and Real Networks first-ever original live-action broadband series ON SET, ON EDGE, starring Freddie Prinze, Jr., Taryn Manning and Vanessa Parise, in addition to Warner Bros. first-ever mobile soap opera DECEPTION. Hull has acted as Senior Consultant to MTV Networks in creating the strategy for and launching their first-ever original digital content project for simultaneous launch online and on mobile, and he continues to act as the senior-most Advisor to the Walt Disney Company developing the operational and content strategy for Disneys new original digital short-form content group. Currently, Hull is in post-production on FOR LOVE OF LIBERTY, the star-studded documentary salute to African-American U.S. soldiers. Hosted by Halle Berry with John Travolta, Bill Cosby, Morgan Freeman, Danny Glover, Mel Gibson, Robert Duvall, James Garner, John Goodman, Colin Powell, Susan Sarandon and many others, the film is slated to premiere in 2008. Hulls film credits include the Miramax smash hit SHE'S ALL THAT, starring Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rachel Leigh Cook, which became Miramaxs highest grossing opening weekend box office film to date, and one of the most successful teen movies in history; Sony's family film DADDY DAY CAMP, starring Cuba Gooding, Jr.; Miramaxs romantic comedy GET OVER IT, starring Kirsten Dunst, Martin Short and hit recording artist, Sisqo; Lionsgates teen horror AMERICAN PSYCHO II, the follow-up to the critically acclaimed AMERICAN PSYCHO; and Miramax's romantic comedy ON THE LINE, starring *NSYNC's Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Justin Timberlake, which was accompanied by a top-selling soundtrack featuring Britney Spears and *NSYNC. ON THE LINE inspired the co-founding of Hulls production company, A Happy Place, with *NSYNC star Lance Bass and music mega-manager Johnny Wright (manager of Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, *NSYNC, Boyz To Men and P. Diddy). Hull's past television projects include the first season of Showtime's first-ever primetime animated series FREE FOR ALL, starring Jeremy Piven and Juliette Lewis, in addition to FRONTSIDE, HES THE MAYOR and CAMPUS COPS, all for MTV. Hulls independently financed and produced films include Starz/Showtimes action-adventure JEKYLL ISLAND, which premiered on Starz!, later debuted on Showtime and was one of the first films acquired by Blockbuster under its then in-house label DEJ; Fox Sports Networks THE STORY OF DARRELL ROYAL, the star-studded, multi award-winning documentary hosted by Matthew McConaughey with Willie Nelson and President George W. Bush; the independent sports film MULLIGAN MEN, starring comedian Paul Goebel, New City Releasing's comedy WITHIN THE LINES, starring Noah Blake, and the Sundance Channel drama THE SPARTANS, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Hulls success in film and television has allowed him to concurrently spend the past 9 years as a trusted advisor to digital and private equity clients, advising them on their content and content strategies. In addition to multiple digital content-related advisory engagements, he acted as the Lead Advisor on the placement of $35 million of private equity into a $300+ million, multi-picture co-financing deal with Universal Studios, Rogue and JP Morgan. Other private equity advisory clients include Brahman Capital, Satellite Asset Management, Intrepid Capital and Putnam Partners/CRT, among others. An active member of the Producers Guild of America, Hull has served on the University of Texas Hollywood Advisory Board, the Board of Directors of Vanderbilt-In-Hollywood and the faculty of the Entertainment Studies Department at UCLA Extension. He supports the Young Storytellers Program, has volunteered his time to oversee on-screen projects for high profile charity causes such as President Clinton's The White House Initiative on Race and established the Mike Campbell Scholarship Fund at The University of Texas. Hull has authored and lectured extensively on broadband and wireless digital content, film and television, and is featured frequently as an industry expert in the press, including outlets such as Daily Variety, Hollywood Reporter, Broadcasting & Cable, Entertainment Weekly and many others. He writes on Hollywood-related issues for the digital content strategies magazine eContent, including the recent cover articles Content Goes Hollywood and SCREEN-PLAY: Building a Multi-Screen Entertainment Strategy. Hull is a native Texan and a graduate with honors of Vanderbilt University. He began his producing career leading national television commercials, short-form brand campaigns and music videos for Warner Bros., New Line, Six Flags Theme Parks, Looney Toons and many, many more. Previously, he was the youngest ever Vice President of Ranger Broadcasting overseeing middle-market radio station creative, acquisitions and operations.
